Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas will open its own resort on Dubai’s World Islands project later this year. Planning a Q4 launch, it will be one of the first resorts on the islands, as well as one of the first internationally-branded properties.
Though it has been kept under wraps for some time, Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort is already “in the final stages of development” according to Minor Hotels. Despite being a Thai brand, the resort will be on the South American continent of the World Islands development. Minor says that the entire island will be dedicated to the resort, a practice which is common in archipelago nations such as the Seychelles and Maldives.

The hotel will also be just 15 minutes away from Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort by boat.
Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort facilities
The property will feature 70 keys comprising suites, beach and pool villas. Villas will have a private pool, an outdoor dining area and direct access to the beach. Dining options will include a Mediterranean al fresco restaurant and Arabic-Indian specialty dining. An additional bar lounge will offer views of the distant Dubai skyline.
Continuing the island theme, the hotel’s chefs will also use freshly caught seafood in their dishes.
Minor Hotels’ hopes for the resort
Dillip Rajakarier, CEO Minor Hotels, parent company of Anantara, commented: “Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort will be the first hotel to open on this archipelago, offering guests a truly memorable escape just off the coast of Dubai. Showcasing Anantara’s authentic luxury while maintaining a tropical island vibe, the resort is a unique proposition for this location. Guests will be able to experience the wonder of Dubai and the ambiance of an island sanctuary, all in this stunning new Anantara resort.”

Abdulla bin Sulayem, CEO of Seven Tides Limited, added “Anantara is one of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotel brands, which is already well established in Dubai and the UAE. Seven Tides and Anantara are further strengthening our relationship with this exciting new venture on the World Islands, representing a new milestone in hospitality and for the city.”
Dubai’s World Islands explained
The World Islands is a man-made island project in Dubai similar to the iconic Palm Jumeirah. The archipelago project recreates countries of the world as their own island, with sections of the project categorised as Europe, South America and so on.
The Heart of Europe developed by the Kleindienst Group is one of the most advanced portions of World Islands. The Heart of Europe, which contains six islands, aims to create an unrivalled holiday and second home destination.
The Heart of Europe comprises villas, floating villas, hotels, restaurants and more. One stand out hotel is the Marbella Hotel. The luxury hotel will offer 191 apartments, suites and ‘caves’. The hotel’s clocks will be set to Spanish time, staff will be fluent in the language and the Euro will be the official currency.
