Professional Background

About Daniel Diosi

Economics and hotel management, trained as a systems thinker with a particular interest in statistics and probability.

2009 — Gas Capacity Trade Analyst, FGSZ (Hungary’s National Gas Transmission System Operator)
Present at the launch of the national daily gas capacity trading system. Built reporting formats for national-level gas traders that are still in use today. First serious exposure to a domain where decisions run entirely on data — there’s no narrative substitute for a trading position.

2011–2013 — Marketing & Pricing Manager, ski resort, Obwalden, Switzerland
Invited through personal network to take over marketing and pricing for a resort in financial difficulty. Managed a large marketing budget and rebuilt pricing strategy from the ground up. Short-term commercial results kept the resort operating for two years before the parent company’s broader financial position led to a takeover — the first lesson in the difference between what a marketing and pricing function can fix, and what it can’t.

2013–2014 — Independent Consultant, Malta
Introduced advanced pricing technique paired with digital marketing to the Maltese hospitality market — effectively defining hotel marketing consulting as a discipline there before it existed as one.

2014–2016 — Global Digital Marketing Manager, Corinthia
Scaled from independent operator to running digital marketing across Corinthia’s entire portfolio of managed properties worldwide.

2016 onward — Independent Consultant + MBA
Left a stable global corporate role deliberately, to go deeper analytically rather than continue climbing inside one company. Completed an MBA, which shifted the practice from marketing execution toward broader online business management: budgeting, vendor brokering, cost oversight, spend optimisation. Clients from this period include The Anam Group, Ayada Maldives, Sofitel Saigon Plaza, InterContinental, and other internationally recognised hotel brands.

From 2021 — Branching Out
Political research analysis and building independent ventures of his own.

Present — Cost Impact Analysis
The codification point. Fifteen years of watching spend against outcomes — on a national trading floor, in a resort’s pricing model, across a global hotel portfolio, and through a decade of independent advisory spanning hospitality, retail, and fashion — formalised into a testable, statistical methodology.
